Some of the positive attributes of this sword cane include a nicely-wrapped handle that offers a superior grip to many other handle styles, what appears to be a three-quarter tang, decent blade balance, and a very nice look. On the downside, this sword cane is easily dinged/scratched, should not be used as a means of support (the plastic tip on the bottom should at least be updated to a rubber tip--easily done with chair tips from Lowe's and similar stores), and, worst of all in my opinion, the push-button release does not secure the sword. That is, the sheath and sword can be pulled apart with one's bare hands despite the push-button mechanism. The band saw is very very light and must be bolted to the workbench to do any work. Even though the blade guide goes up to allow for 3" thick material, do not expect to do anything larger than 1/4" brass or aluminum. When I tried to feed 1/2" aluminum bar the saw really struggled and made sad noises. The saw quickly developed blade-tracking problems and more importantly it would refuse to to start without me manually giving the blade-wheels a push. And this is only after a few hours of operation! I tried to adjust and readjust to no avail, The saw just refuses to keep the blade tracking. The table is machined aluminum and is pretty flat, However, the center of the table (where the blade exits) has a 1" square whole covered by red plastic.
